TEMPORARILY CLOSED
Meany Lodge would normally be welcoming members and guests to a variety of activities and work parties over the summer. With the uncertainties of COVID-19 still present, we are following the Mountaineers COVID-19 policy, and our official events are being postponed or canceled as appropriate. Please check back for updates. We are working with the club to determine if we can develop mitigations and plans for modified work parties that will keep all participants safe.
Have no fear, small groups of Committee members are doing the minimum required chores: firewood for the winter has been cut, split, and is drying over the summer, and the TomCat is fixed and running again. If COVID-19 conditions allow, we’ll be ready to open this winter!
During a (normal) summer, Meany offers a range of activities including biking, hiking, mushroom hunting, and the opportunity to learn all sorts of skills during our work parties that prepare the lodge for next winter’s snow. Come learn to splice ropes, maintain tracked vehicles, weld, split wood, do plumbing or carpentry, maintain trails, and more! Among this summers projects: installing new wooden wheels for the drive and idler pulleys on the Worm Rope Tow; constructing new storage buildings; and updating the safety markers around the skiing areas.
Come Dec 27th, 2021, Meany will be open again for winter sports, play, and skiing!
